Sky Force is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language historical war film directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, and Jyoti Deshpande under Jio Studios.[2] The film stars Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya (in his acting debut), Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur.

    Officially announced in October , Sky Force began filming in May in Mumbai.[6] The principal photography wrapped up in late-April , spanning days, with shooting held in parts of India and UK.[7][8]

    Sky Force is set to release on 24 January , coinciding with Republic Day.[9]

    Production

    The film first came into development in June , with pre-production done by March [11][12] The film was officially announced on 2 October , on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.[13][14] The film is inspired by India's retaliatory attack on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase in the Indo-Pakistani air war of [15][16]

    Filming

    Principal photography began on 31 May in Mumbai.[17] Filming moved to Lucknow in August [18][19] The shooting was officially wrapped up on 26 April [20][21]

    The film was shot over a period of days (including 60 days for Akshay Kumar) in locations such as Mumbai, Lucknow, Sitapur, Amritsar, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pathankot and United Kingdom.[22] A special song involving Veer Pahariya and Sara Ali Khan was shot in Mussoorie.[23] Filming concluded on 17 December [24][25]

    Music

    The songs of the film are composed by Tanishk Bagchi while the background score is composed by Justin Varghese.

    Lyrics are written by Manoj Muntashir, Irshad Kamil and Shloke Lal. The first single titled "Maaye" was released on 8 January [26] The second and third and fourth single titled "Kya Meri Yaad Aati Hai" and "Aankhon Mein Base Ho Tum" and "Maine Dil Se Poochha" was released on 11 January [27] The third single titled "Rang" was released on 17 January

    Release

    Initially planned to release on 2 October , Sky Force is set for theatrical release on 24 January [28]
